The NHS is going through a period of unprecedented change. 3Well Medical embraces the positive aspects of change and will make them work to the advantage of our patients. We are collaborating closely with GP colleagues across the city in our Local Commissioning Group.
We believe very strongly in Patient Participation in the practice and have active Patient Participation and Action Groups at each practice. We listen to patient feedback about our practice services and mobilise the community with mutual help initiatives, such as a Befriender scheme and Expert Patient programs.
In technology terms, we would be considered to be amongst the leaders, continually investing in improvements to systems and equipment which will help us manage information better and communicate more effectively. Examples would be:
- Text messages sent to patients automatically to confirm appointments.
- 24 hour online appointment booking and repeat prescriptions.
- 24 hour automated telephone appointment booking system
- Patient websites for each practice.
- E-Newsletter sent out to patients every 3 months

Automated data interfaces to our TPP SystmOne clinical patient record systemsNew digital dictation system in 2011from:
- New ECG and Spirometry equipment also posting results and analysis directly into clinical systems.
- Digital dictation system
- Practices involved with PCT in project to roll out Summary Care Records.
- Working with the PCT on rollout of Electronic Prescribing System phase 2.
- Trialling on-line Sign Language translation for patients via video link.
